Toronto Nightlife Guide

How to get into clubs in Toronto

Almost every nightclub in Toronto is 19+ with government photo ID required. The big King West rooms get selective after midnight, so sign up for the guestlist, arrive before the cutoff (usually 11 PM to midnight), keep the group balanced and dress the part. A table reservation is the only real guarantee on long weekends.

What to wear

King West and downtown clubs expect upscale, fashionable attire and refuse hats, athletic wear, shorts, sandals and baggy clothing. Underground venues, concert halls and warehouse parties are casual. Our dress code guide covers every venue type.

When to go

Fridays and Saturdays are the main club nights, with doors around 10 PM and peak crowds after midnight. Wednesday is Latin night at Fiction, Thursday belongs to King West lounges, and summer Sundays are for pool clubs. Last call in Ontario is 2 AM; a few venues run after-hours.

Where to go

King West is the nightclub strip. The Entertainment District is friendlier on cover, Queen West has the widest range of music, College Street has the best sound systems and the waterfront has the biggest club in the country. Read the full neighbourhood guide.

How does guestlist work at Toronto clubs?

Guestlist is a free sign-up through the venue or a promoter that typically gets you free or reduced cover before a cutoff, usually between 11 PM and midnight, and access to a faster line. It does not guarantee entry: the door can still refuse guests who do not meet the dress code or arrive after the cutoff.

How much does bottle service cost in Toronto?

Table minimums vary by venue, night and table location. Expect minimum spends in the high hundreds at smaller lounges and well into the thousands for prime tables at the biggest clubs on holiday weekends. Request a quote through our bottle service page and a host will confirm pricing for your date.
